**DUE TO THE FRAGILE NATURE OF THIS ITEM, I CAN SELL ONLY TO A LOCAL BUYER IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA** Antique American mirror, 34" by 23" overall, the mirror itself 25 1/2" by 14", in gilt wood with ornate designs like a cornucopia basket in the corners, and a turned balustrade vertical element. The reverse side shows a beveled wood back and heavy duty hook for hanging. I'd hesitate to call this high Federal style, but it is completely typical of the sort of mirrors found in mid nineteenth century homes. Condition is good for the age, with old losses of the inner beading area at left (see photos). The mirror surface itself shows the silvering has aged, giving an authentic old look. ***UPDATE***gold surface has darkened since photos were taken. Ask for new images. Consider this piece if you are furnishing with a folk art or Americana country theme. SEE HUNDREDS OF PAINTINGS AND PRINTS AND A NUMBER OF FOLK ART AMERICANA TYPE PIECES in my shop.
