I am offering this pretty much as an antique collectable frame (rabbet 15" by 11 1/2", about 17" by 13 1/2" if you were inclined to try to remove what looks like an inner frame). It probably dates to about 1880. For many years it has housed a chromolithograph of sailing craft, "Coming Into Port", by the American luminist marine artist George Curtis (1826-1881). The chromo is on canvas, bearing the stamp of publishers Colton, Zahm & Roberts of New York. The original label still adheres to the stretcher. Over about 130 years the print has acquired serious damage, including holes, scuffs and so forth, not to mention significant discoloration. Therefore this item is presented as basically a frame, and the print is a bonus. At lower right there is a missing area measuring about 2" by 1".
