A skilled pencil drawing of decorative towers of a church or mosque complex, next to a river, apparently in a milder climate location (see palm trees), signed at lower right "STOLZE". The towers, which somewhat resemble those fantasy towers of St. Basil's in Moscow, seem to be part of a mosque complex, as tiny crescent moons appear to be affixed at the tops of the towers. On the reverse is written "by Martin Stolze" There are several "Stolze" names among listed artists, but none of those artist seems to be a fit with this drawing. The unframed sheet measures 17 1/4" by 12". As it has traveled unframed for so long a time, it has acquired an old moisture stain at upper left, cuts and losses in the far margins, and creases and wrinkles within the image. Properly framed, the margins under a mat, the beauty of the drawing can still be enjoyed.
