A relatively large (21 1/2" by 17 7/8", and 27" by 23 1/2" framed) chalk drawing of an idealized handsome nude male figure, likely by a talented student, dating most likely to the 18th century. Note the beautiful shading and modeling of the anatomy---the limbs and their musculature, and the strategically placed fig leaf. There is no signature nor other notation but there are old watermarks including one with letters, and more analysis of these could help to determine more closely the age of the paper. The work would most likely be French, or Italian. Will be shipped between boards for safety, with the modern day attractive silver and brown framing (no glass).
