Beautifully painted impressionist work by artist "Rosis", dated at lower right 1961, the scene buildings and old style lamp posts, the French tricolor flag appearing several times. The painting though created at mid twentieth century seems to harken back to the famous late 19th century scenes by vaunted artists like Monet, Sisley, Pissarro, and the other major impressionists. I do not see a listing under this name but the artist was very talented. If one carefully studies the brush and palette knife work, the genius in the artist's approach is plain to see. Condition is excellent. A more substantial frame will increase the impact of the work. Measurements 19 1/4" by 23 1/2" (23 1/4" by 27 1/4" framed).
