A watercolor and gouache painting on paper, of naive charm, featuring a white steepled country church in an open nocturnal landscape of rolling sparsely wooded hills, twinkling stars overhead, a resting deer at lower left, and chickens grazing at lower right. The work is inscribed at lower right in ballpoint pen: "FOR BUCKY--WITH MY BEST WISHES FOR HIS HAPPINESS ROBERT T.T.". Date of execution is most likely circa 1960's. There is an old Aaron Brothers of California framers sticker on the backing. Condition is fair to good; I note a number of light scuffs, mostly in the sky, but some elsewhere, and a horizontal scuff that is more towards a hairline scratch, at lower center to the left of the birds. However this kind of blends with the scene and doesn't really stand out. The scuffs in the sky are most visible when viewed at an angle (as they were photographed)---considerably less noticeable when viewed head-on. Measurements 14 1/2" by 19 1/2" (19" by 24" framed in light pine).
