Mid twentieth century oil on canvas painting of mallard ducks in flight, signed at lower left "De Marcillac", the measurements 21 1/2" by 43", a several inch wide whitewashed frame available with the painting. This is a beautifully painted work that will be surely appreciated by the sportsman or decoy collector. There is a small bit of work visible on the net by an illustrator going by this name, but I cannot tie the piece to that artist. The work was found in Vero Beach, Florida, and bears an old New Jersey framer's label. Condition is excellent with just slight soiling and a near-dimple. The frame was intact when shipped from Florida, but loosened up and came apart on the journey west. I can offer it at no extra cost, but the four now separate sides will be just taped together as a bundle for eventual reassembly by the buyer. The accuracy of the painting demonstrates that the artist truly studied the anatomy and in-flight movements of ducks. This is a prize for the sporting and wildlife art collector. Perfect for hunting cabin, vacation home, etc.
