An oil on rough side of the Masonite painting of a windmill in a landscape with a foreground cow, painted in a skilled impressionist hand, and signed by the artist, one PENNY SMITH, at lower left. The work was probably painted in the 1950's, judging from the signature and style/materials. I do not see a listing for a Penny Smith, but she was trained. Measurements are 14" by 12" and the work is unframed. Condition is very good, with just a corner chip at lower left, which would be hidden by a frame. Overall a nicely painted work, likely a scene from The Netherlands.
