By the French Symbolist artist MAURICE DENIS (1870-1943), this is a remarque proof on Chine Volant paper, edition of 260, from the year 1939. The print, Cailler #169 in the definitive catalogue raisonne of Denis' prints, is from the "Five Poems" by Francis Thompson. Condition is good with no tears or major stains, though there are some imperfections such as small discolorations and some rumpling of the paper in the margins and a light horizontal crease there below and to the lower right of the imagery. The work is affixed to a board with two corner hinges, as found unframed. See photos. The sheet measures 17 3/4" by 12 3/4", the image area roughly 11 1/2" by 7 1/2" (including remarque).
