A hand signed example of the print "Edgartown" (Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts) by noted contemporary Cape Cod and the Islands artist KATHY O'NEIL. The work is numbered 111/350 at lower left margin and is hand signed by the artist at lower right margin. O'NEIL works in the popular naive, folk art tradition that can be traced back to Ralph Cahoon. Popular subjects are mostly scenes of the Cape, Nantucket, or Martha's Vineyard. Imagery usually or often includes whales, mermaids, fanciful balloons. The artist has a website but it lacks detailed biographical information. Condition of the print is excellent. Sure to please the Martha's Vineyard fan, and there are a lot of them these days. Measures 12 1/2" by 14 1/2" in its light wood, distressed-style frame. Allow for some reflections in the images.
