An antique etching or engraving with hand coloring the scene including a windmill, distant steeple, small boats on a body of water, and elegantly attired mid-19th century folks, the artist name H. Jessen appearing at lower left margin. There is a Carl Ludwig Jessen of Frisia (or, Friesland---an area of the extreme northern Netherlands and adjacent areas of extreme northwestern Germany). He was born in 1833 and died in 1917. I have not been able to locate an H. Jessen but there may be a relationship---possibly father to this Carl, as this work likely dates to about the year 1850. A decorative small antique print in traditional old world style. Befitting its antique nature, there is some subtle browning of areas in the sky. Measurements 5" by 7 3/8" (print inside the mat) and 9 1/4" by 11 3/4" in modern era gold strip frame. Tape on back indicates this was framed in Helsingborg, a city in southern Sweden two miles across a strait from Denmark.
