A poster of the 1955 painting by Balthus, "Nude in Front of a Mantel" (or, "Nude in Front of a Mirror), accessioned in 1975 by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as part of the monumental Robert Lehman collection. The poster dates to the late seventies or early eighties most likely. Measurements 36" by 28 1/2" in its present gray metal frame (no glass or Plexi). There are some white marks at lower left that appear to be scrapes which left a residue, but the paper itself does not appear damaged. I don't know if this can be removed. At right center there is a 1" area that is scratched; could be moderated with a little watercolor carefully matched. All in all the fault areas do not overwhelm the decorative appeal.
