A beautiful color photograph, 19" by 15 1/2" (28 1/4" by 24 1/4" in metal frame), "Forest and Ferns III", 1982-83, Vermont, signed in pencil and bearing stamp of the photographer, CLINTON SMITH. The Cibachrome photo is very beautifully and perfectly exposed, with a wonderful play of light and color. Smith, presently a resident of Mendocino, California, first opened a gallery in 1971 in Southern California. In 1975 he moved to Monterey, becoming an assistant to Wynn Bullock and Morley Baer, and befriending Ansel Adams, who complimented his work. In 1990 the George Eastman House held an exhibition of Smith's work. The artist has taught in Carmel, Rockport, Maine, Asheville, North Carolina, New York, and elsewhere, and his work has been widely published. Condition of the photo is excellent. The Plexi has scratches so will need to be replaced, and metal frame shows some rubbing. Allow for reflections as seen in the trees--
