An unusual offering: a print of some type, appearing as lithograph but not, perhaps a Heliogravure or similar, with HAND COLORING IN PASTEL, the oval-shaped card on which this is created measuring 20" by 16", the entire wood apparently original early oval frame measuring 26 1/2" by 23 1/2". Research indicates this is after a Renoir original work "Portrait of a Girl Wearing a Charlotte", circa 1900, now in the collection of the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. The piece would appeal to those who appreciate the beautiful impressionism of Renoir's oils and pastels, but live within budget limitations. The hand coloring is by a talented artist. The oval has damp staining and some fragility (edge crumbling) in the lower portion, as shown. The frame certainly shows its age. The new owner could reframe with a new oval and mat. The final photo shows the "exploded" view of frame, the art, and the original backing materials. There is glass (not shown). Email me to discuss.
