This lovely bouquet pin / brooch measures 3" x 1 1/8" x 1/4". It has a beautiful foliate design, engraved with the Greek characters for The Delta Gamma Sorority (also known as DG) on the bowed-out center section. The back of the pin is marked STERLING with the Frank M. Schofield Co. / The Schofield Co. maker's mark. The company was originally The Baltimore Silversmiths Mfg. Co., and also went under Heer-Schofield. Delta Gamma is one of the oldest and largest women's "fraternities:" now, of course, "sororities": founded on October 25, 1873, in Oxford, Mississippi at the Lewis School for Girls. This is truly a lovely piece with great history. It is in excellent condition.
