A 19th C.Mystery lock from China with etched birds and flowers.The lock has no opening for the key until you find the secret way to find the opening. Comes with instructions & original key. Size 8.5cm x 3.5cm. Condition: Very good with natural aging.

Antique green lacquer ware chest produced from a mixture of orpiment and indigo, both of which are found in the Shan region. Age: Late 19th early 20th century. Size: L. 22.4cm. W. 14cm. H. 7.7cm. Condition: Some minor touch-ups on the lid.

Jambala (Tibetan: Dzambhala) is the Tibetan God of wealth and appropriately a member of the Jewel family. He comes in many forms and in this Jambala is in its “white form” and holds a trident and a scepter rides on a Makara (sea creature). Jambala is said to decrease obstacles and increase all good fortune and happiness. Jambala is also the protector of beings from sickness and difficulties...

An unusual bone handle dagger decorated with a turquoise stone and silver a copper fittings. The sheath is made of silver with a woven silver chain attached to the knife. There is piece of "stingray skin" wrapped around the middle. There is one turquoise stone decorating the sheath with two red (resin) stones that originally were red coral.The blade is made of steel. Age: late 19th Century to early 20th. Size: 17.5cm. Condition: No repairs.

A rare huanghuali wood Chinese "violin" called an erhu. The main body and neck are carved from a single piece of huanghuali wood, its top stretched with snake skin of beautiful patterning. The bottom of the main body has a sound hole with an openwork carving of a stylized "shou" character meaning longevity (this bottom panel is a separate piece of huanghuali)...

A nice Nyonya bowl with butterflies and floral design. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W.13cm. H. 5cm. Condition: No repairs. Some wear and ageing.

A large and rare Chinese blackwood day bed low table. This table was designed to be placed in the canopy bed for reading and eating. Date: Middle Qing. Size: L.81 cm,W.50 cm, H.31 cm. Condition: Very good. Possible old repair on top table. See last photo

An ornate silver betel box with open-work patterns of curling tendrils. The body and lid each have five panels with high relief work depicting 10 different scenes of ancient Burma. The top of the domed lid has a lotus blossom. The bottom is hammered with the date and occasion for the piece.

An elegantly hand-crafted cloisonne obidome of a double-gourd form. The burgundy-colored glass enamelling of the gourd is thickly applied and translucent. The cobalt blue "rope" around gourd has pure gold highlights. Can be used as a pendant. Size: L. 5cm. W. 3cm. Condition: No repairs.

A blue and white Qing ceramic drum stool with Buddhist & Taoist symbols, coins, bats and flowers which are all good luck items. Size: H. 46cm. W. 35cm. Condition: No repairs. Some very minor chipping on the knobs.

A Britannia metal coffee pot made by E. Stacy & Son, successors to John Vickers, Britannia Place, Sheffield. See stamp on the bottom of the pot. Britannia metal is an alloy that was invented by John Vickers to replace the expensive pewter in 1745. Britannia metal gradually started to replace pewter from about 1780. Size: H. 26cm. W. 20cm. In Hindu and Buddhist mythology, a Naga is a semidivine being, half human and half dragon serpent. Nagas can assume either wholly human or wholly serpentine form. They live in an underground kingdom filled with beautiful palaces that are adorned with gems. Size; 90cm X 70cm. Condition: two age cracks between the head and body. Overall in very good condition.
