A very rare extremely large storage jar from the Chinese Song period, 960 -1126 AD.These jars were used for storage for Chinese trading vessels. They were then traded off to Chieftains in Southeast Asia and were considered sacred items. Most jars were from the Ming to the middle Qing Dynasties. This one is very rare as it dates back to the Song Dynasty. This vase was found in Borneo, Malaysia. It is unusual to find this size jar intact from that period. Size: H. 76 cm. W. 57 cm. Condition: No repairs or missing parts. Some wear from age.
