This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Franziska Hirsch
Dresden Studio in the 1880s. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is
2 5/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The porcelain is highly translucent. The cup features a delicate butterfly handle and pedestal base. Both pieces are beautifully hand painted with swags of tiny, delicate flowers. There are fine gilded accents and lacy gold trim. The butterfly is accented with gold. This is a rare example of a cup and saucer with a figural handle. It is so desirable.
Condition: Excellent, little glaze blemish very slight, mentioned for accuracy.
