This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris manufacturer in the 1880s. It has a spurious Sevres mark on the bottom. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ¾ inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. There are reserves on the front of the cup and two on the saucer containing hand painted scenes. The front of the cup has a lovely couple in a forest landscape. The saucer has two landscapes with buildings. These scenes are surrounded by embossed gold frames. The handle and trims are trimmed with gold. Condition: The saucer has a tiny bit of rubbing you can hardly see.

This porcelain tea caddy with lid was produced in Germany by Sitzendorf in the 1890s. The tea caddy measures 6 inches high, including the lid and 5 inches across the handles. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The reserve on the front is hand painted with a mischievous looking cupid with his bow and arrows. The painting is finely executed with bright colors and fine detail. The scene is framed in a raised gold cartouche. The back of the caddy has a gilded lyre or harp in raised gold. There are lovely gilded accents and trim. This is a charming accent piece or great find for collectors of tea caddys. Condition: Excellent

This 3 piece porcelain tea set was produced in Austria by Royal Rudolstadt in the 1890s. The pot measures 5 ½ inches high and 4 ¼ inches from the spout to the handle. The cream pitcher is 4 inches high and 3 inches from the spout to the handle. The sugar bowl with lid is 3 ½ inches high and has a diameter of 3 ¼ inches. The 3 pieces all have little feet. They are entirely hand painted and hand gilded. The scenes with cherubs are all artist signed. There is opulent raised gilding and raised enamel beaded accents on all of the pieces. The deep cobalt blue ground provides dramatic contrast to the gilding and painted reserves. Condition: Excellent

This set of 12 porcelain plates was produced in France by Sevres at the Chateau Des Toulleries In 1844. The set has an under glaze mark and 2 over glaze marks containing the date. The plates measure 9 3/8 inches in diameter. The porcelain is very thin and translucent. They bear the monogram of King Louis Phillipe in gold. The cherubs in the centers and the reserves on the borders are all hand painted. The cherubs on each plate are holding different objects and engaged in different activities. The cartouches around the reserves have ornate hand gilding. There is lacy gilding and gold trim around the rims. The contrast of the gold against the cobalt blue borders is striking. Condition: Excellent

These 12 porcelain dinner plates were produced in England by Spode Copelands China in the 1890s. They were produced especially for the high end retailer T. Good & Co. of London. The plates measure 10 ¾ inches in diameter. They are made of fine, white bone china. The set was used for decoration only. They are completely hand painted with floral centers and border reserves. No two plates are the same. Around the borders there are triangular ornaments painted with branches of berries surrounded by fine vermicelli gilding. The gilding around the reserves is raised paste of the highest quality. The gilding is accented with white enamel beads or jewels. The detail and quality of workmanship is astonishing. All of this combined with a vibrant pink ground will make your table or cabinet light up. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain figural group was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory or KPM in 1913. It has a date cipher indicating this year. The piece is signed by Karl Himmelstoss, a modeler who specialized in traditional subject matter. The group measures 9 ½ inches high, 9 inches long and 5 inches wide. The piece weighs over 5 pounds unwrapped. Two women and child from the Spreewald region of Germany, outside of Berlin engage in some juicy gossip. They are dressed in the traditional costumes of this period. The modelling is well done and the piece is nicely balanced. Himmelstoss had a sense of humor with his characters. Just look at the older woman’s expression. She is totally enjoying what she is hearing. There are finely hand painted details to the costumes the three are wearing. If you travel to Spreewald you will probably still see women dressing in this traditional manner. You will find an illustration and description of this figural group on page 135, “Berliner Porzellan vom Jugendstil zum Funktionalismus 1889-1939” from the Brohan Museum. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer or KPM about 1900. It was modelled by the artist Karl Himmelstoss. He specialized in subjects wearing traditional costumes. The figure is 10 ¼ inches high and 7 inches wide. The figure weighs over 4 pounds unpacked. The finest modelling and degree of detail is evident. Folds in the skirt, ruffled collar and sleeves, the wicker texture of the basket, ribbons and headdress show complex detail. Completing the piece is the exquisitely detailed painting of the lady. KPM was known for wonderful hand painted plaques but here is that remarkable painting on a figurine. The traditional costumes worn by the women of the Spreewald region, outside of Berlin, provided interesting subject matter for Himmelstoss and was appreciated by Berliners. It was common to see nurses and nannies wearing this type of clothing in the 19th century. This piece has a dual purpose, as a work of art and preserving historical prospective on the life in Germany. Condition: Excellent first quality

This porcelain figure or bust was produced in France by Vion & Baury in the 1870s. This piece is signed with impressed letters EB, Paris and a signature S. Kinsburger. The bisque figure is 7 ½ inches high and 4 ½ inches wide. The bust depicts a charming young maiden with a love letter tucked into her clothing. She is dressed in a frilly cap with polka dots. Her embroidered bodice is intricately hand painted and a row of gilded buttons accent it. Puffed sleeves with polka dots match her cap. There is a corsage of roses on her shoulder. The artist captured a portrait of a sweet, demure maiden in a moment of anticipation frozen in time and bisque porcelain. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1890. The date cipher indicates this year. The plate was made especially for the New York retailer, Wilhelm & Graef. The plate measures 9 inches in diameter. It is made of fine bone china. The ground color is pale yellow. Four center panels and two bands of ruby red enamel form the decoration. The entire surface of the plate has incredible raised gilding. The design is inspired by Persian influence that Crown Derby was intrigued with. The pattern on this plate is like an embroidered tapestry. Condition: Excellent

This perfume stand or caddy was produced in France in the 1870s. The mark on the Longwy insert is partially covered but may be from 1815 to 1835. The metal stand is 8 ¾ inches high and the diameter is inches. The metal is dore gilded. There are three hand cut crystal bottles with stoppers. A Longwy ceramic dish or tray was used as an insert for the stand. It gives the stand a Persian look. It is an intriguing piece purchased as a souvenir by a traveler taking the grand tour of Europe in the 1800s. Condition: One crystal perfume bottle has damage at the neck. There are no other flaws.

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory, or KPM, in 1919. The date ciphers indicate this year. The plate is 8 ¾ inches in diameter. The porcelain is delicate and translucent with a reticulated border. The decoration is beautifully hand painted with the “soft paste paint” style. There is a fragile dragonfly hovering near the realistically painted flowers. The reticulated pattern on the border is outlined in gold and the rim is also gilded. Condition: Excellent

The ground color of this set is deep cobalt blue. The cup has a reserve on the front with a Watteau scene of lovers in a garden. There are two scenes of landscapes on the saucer. Ornate gilded cartouches frame these scenes. It is very similar to work done at the Sevres factory and even the handle is the same style. CONDITION; Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ½ inches and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The porcelain is fine, white, hard paste. There is a hand painted scene on the front of the cup with colorful exotic birds. The saucer has little insects scattered about. There is lacy gold trim around the rims of each piece. CONDITION: Excellent, first quality

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Brown, Westhead & Moore around 1875. It is not marked but we found the shape in “A Compendium of British Cups” by Berthoud. The saucer measures 5 ¼ inches and the cup is 2 ¾ inches high. The set has wonderful celeste blue enamel coloring. There are bands of tiny hand painted flowers accenting the rims. Gilded accents and gold trim on rims and handles add to the design. CONDITION: Excellent

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It measures 8 ¾ inches in diameter. The plate is made of fine, white bone china. The rim has a rococo style. It is elaborately hand enameled with raised paste gilding. There are urns overflowing with fruits and flowers. There are instruments and lit touches, flower swags and arabesques in unbelievable quantity. The design nearly covers the entire plate. It is rare to find such workmanship that is unmatched Condition: Excellent

This porcelain chocolate set was produced in Germany by the Carl Thieme Saxonian Porcelain Factory at Potschappel around 1900. The set consists of a chocolate pot, 10 ¾ inches tall, 6 cups, 3 inches high without the handle, and 6 saucers, 4 ½ inches in diameter. The set is decorated in a pattern similar to Marie Antoinette’s china. Each piece is expertly hand painted with vibrant sprays of flowers. The flowers are framed with elegant raised gilding. Raised gilding accent the borders, handles and rims. The handles on the cups are empire style, rising up over the rims of the cups. You would be proud to showcase this set in your breakfront or display cabinet. Condition: Just a ¼ inch loss to gilding on the back or the pot keeps this set from being excellent. It is barely visible.

This porcelain dish was produced in Germany by the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the 1890s. The dish measures 10 3/4 inches long, 7 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches deep. The dish is formed in the shape of a fan. The center of the dish is hand painted with a Watteau scene of lovers dressed in 18th century costume. They are enjoying the pleasures of the garden. The painting is very detailed and colorful. The border has a similarity to designs done at the Sevres factory in France. It has gilded cartouches of exotic birds and and intricate cross hatch design. There are gilded accents and gold trim. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain plate was produced in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in 1889. It is marked with that year and the symbol of Nicholas I. The service was produced for Empress Alexandra Feoderovna and was called the Alexandrinsky Service. The plate is 8 ¾ inches in diameter. It is fashioned in the Sevres style. It is hand painted in overglaze polychrome painting. The hand gilding is raised and elaborate. The colors are vibrant and all of the gilding is intact. The authenticity of this plate was confirmed by a renowned international auction house. Condition: Excellent
