This porcelain and sterling silver vase was produced in Germany between 1934 and 1947. It has the underglaze blue crossed swords mark and incised model numbers. It measures 3 3/4 inches high, approximately 4 1/4 inches in diameter and the opening of the vase is 3 1/4 inches. The body of the vase is moved with panels to give it shape. Colorful assortments of fruits and flowers and hand painted while sprigs and berries dot the surface. The foot of the vase is encased in a heavy sterling silver rim. It is a lovely accent piece for use or display. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

This faience figural group was produced in Bologna, Italy by Aurelio Minghetti in the early 1900s. This piece was sold by the retailer “Carbone” of Boston, who handled European imports from about 1910 to 1920. It measures 16 inches high, 9 1/2 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. It is well modeled and hand painted. The garments on the Madonna have colorful detail. There is a feel of serenity and ancient Mediterranean tradition in the piece. It displays beautifully in the round. Condition: There is a chip on the side base that is barely visible and can be seen in the last photo; some insignificant abrasions, but no restorations or breaks. Note: This piece weighs 8 1/2 pounds unpacked.

This silver overlay vase was produced in Germany by Friedrich Spar & Company around 1930. Except for a number 21 in red it is not signed but we are certain of its origin. The vase measures 7 inches in diameter. The art deco design is Asian inspired with pink flowers and branches spreading around the porcelain. The ground color is medium blue which contrasts so beautifully with the pink blossoms. The silver work is elaborate. Condition: Excellent

These 10 porcelain plates were produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1932. They have the date cipher that indicates this year. The plates have a diameter of 9 1/2 inches. They are made of fine bone china and have a slightly scalloped edge. The ground color is cobalt blue with a lacy fern type gilding over it. The centers of each plate have hand paint bouquets of flowers in bright colors. The plates are signed by the Worcester artist, Townsend. No two plates are exactly the same. Condition: On the back edge of one plate there is a shallow chip not seen from the front. All of the other plates are in excellent condition.

These 8 porcelain tea cups and saucers were produced in Hungary by Herend between 1950 and 1970. The saucers are 5 3/4 inches in diameter and the cups are 2 inches high. They are decorated with the pattern known as “Rothschild Birds”. The porcelain is molded with a raised basket weave border. Colorful birds sit in a tree with a necklace hanging from the branches. Butterflies and insects are scattered about the surface of both pieces. The handle and rims are trimmed with gold. Herend’s creations are tasteful and timeless. NOTE: Although only one cup and saucer is pictured, this auction is for 8 cups and saucers in the Rothschild Birds pattern, and all 8 are in excellent condition.
