This majolica jardinière was produced in Europe in the late 19th century. There are no identifying marks. The piece is 10 inches high and 9 inches in diameter. It stands on three feet. The body of the jardinière is mottled brown. It has an incredible amount of hand craftsmanship in its manufacture. Leaves are fashioned so that they surround the opening of the jardinière. The rim of the piece is ruffled and crimped. The flowers and leaves on the front are all hand crafted and applied. There is some hand painting and gilded accents. Condition: The inside is crazed. One flower has a piece of a petal missing. It is an amazing antique majolica piece.

This chrome and wood kettle on a stand was produced in Meridan, Connecticut by Manning and Bowman with a patent date of 1904. The kettle and stand together are 12 1/2 inches high. The kettle, from spout to end is 11 inches. The kettle has a rosewood handle and knob. There is a rosewood fitting in the base of the stand which holds an alcohol burner to keep the kettle hot. The paper label from the manufacturer is still intact. It is designed with clean lines in the style of the arts and crafts period. Condition: There is a tiny nick on the edge of the wood base which holds the burner. One screw is missing from the base. There are no other defects. Classic style and functionality combine to create a handsome piece for use or display.
