This set of 6 porcelain plates was produced in the United States in the 1930s or 40s. They are signed by the professional artist Anton Rhodes who worked for Pickard and all of the major decorating studios in the Chicago area during his career. The plates measure 10 3/4 inches in diameter. They have expertly hand painted still life compositions of flower arrangements in various types of receptacles. Each plate is a work of art with pleasing colors and fine artistry. The plates have 2 inch borders of opulent, embossed gilding. The backs of the plates are gilded up to the foot ring. These highly decorative plates are perfect for display in a cabinet or hanging on a wall.
