This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by Pouyat Limoges in the 1890s. It was sold white ware to a studio decorator to be hand painted. The saucer measures 6 inches long and 5 inches wide. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is made of thin, translucent porcelain. The cup has four flipper-like feet and an unusual handle. Both pieces are hand painted in Dresden style with bright colored sprays of flowers. There are lacy gold trim and gilded accents. The handle and rims are trimmed with gold. The oval shape of the set is most unusual. Condition: The rim of the cup has light wear to the gilding.
