This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by the Schwarzburger Werkstatten or Schwarzburg Workshops in the 1920s. The base has the impressed initials AST which stand for the artist Albert Storch. The factory was founded by Max Aldolf Pfeiffer in 1908 and he was the director until 1913 at which time he became the artistic director at Meissen. The highest standards of artistic accomplishment is evident. The macaw is 15 1/2 inches high, 12 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The art deco modeling is unmistakable and stylish. The hand painting is vivid and exciting with excellent details. This piece may be viewed from any angle and is an outstanding decorative accent for your decor. Condition: Excellent. There are no defects of any kind.
