This glass dessert compote and underplate was produced in Europe by a Bohemian glass manufacturer in the late 19th century. There is no marking. The underplate measures 6 3/4 inches and the bowl has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and a height of 4 1/4 inches. The hand blown glass has a lead content and rings when tapped. The upper part of the bowl is tinted cranberry color. There is a wide band of gold, hand enameled with flowers and clovers. There is raised enameled bead trim on the plate and on the foot of the compote. It is a piece of fine quality and beauty.
