This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Wehsener Dresden in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 3 1/4 inches high not including the handle. The cup features an ornate empire style handle. Both pieces are entirely gilded. The cup is decorated with hand painted figures dressed in 19th century costumes with vivid colors. The figures stand out against the gilded background. The interior of the cup has enameled wreaths and raised gold bows. This pattern is repeated around the border of the saucer. There is raised gold beading and enamel beaded accents on both pieces.
Condition: The saucer has spots of wear to the gilding from the cup rubbing. They do not show when the cup is in place. There are no other issues.
