For the set of 36 pieces.
This 36 piece glass service was produced in Bohemia by the Moser Glass Decorating Studio between 1880 and 1890. It consists of 12 plates measuring 8 3/8 inches in diameter, 12 champagne goblets measuring 5 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of the bowl 4 1/4 inches and 12 wine glasses measuring 5 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of the bowl 2 3/8 inches. The glass is hand blown crystal and cranberry cut to clear. All of the pieces are hand enameled with medallions of roses and other colorful flowers. There are panels of ornate raised enamel scrolls and flowers. Vibrant colors shade from light to dark in the style in which Lobmeyr was famous. The quality of the enamel is exceptionally fine. The gilding is incredibly elaborate. Tiny coils of gilding cover the ruby portions of each piece. There are gilded ornaments, gold beading and additional trim. We could not find a signature but we have found identical pieces that were signed.
This set was received as a wedding gift before the turn of the 19th century and was packed away in an attic. There are no chips, cracks or wear to the gilding. Celebrate this holiday season with this exceptional Moser service.
