This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Rosenthal in the 1950s. It has the artist’s signature, Fritz Heidenreich, impressed into the base. It had a 13 1/2 inch wing span and is 8 1/4 inches high. The figurine is expertly modeled by this highly renowned artist. This drake is hand painted in natural colors. His splendid plumage is finely detailed. The mallard is lifting up out of the water with powerful, swift wings. Heidenreich was able to express this moment of motion with amazing realism.
