This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by Theodore Haviland Limoges in the 1890s. It was made especially for Emile Bourgeois of the Grand Depot in Paris. The saucer has a diameter of 5 ½ inches and the cup is 2 inches high. It is decorated with flow blue on a burgundy background that is overlaid with an elaborate gold transfer design. The pattern is reminiscent of silk brocade fabric from India. The water lilies are done in art nouveau style. The gilding adds a fine texture to the porcelain. It is a unique example of Theodore Haviland Limoges created for the French market. Condition: Excellent
