This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Lamm Dresden Studio in the 1890s. The portait is titled “Vestalin” after the portrait of the Vestal Virgin by Angelika Kauffmann. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ¼ inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The ground color is iridescent aqua. The hand painted portrait on the front of the cup is surrounded by intricate raised gilding. There are cornucopias brimming with flowers on either side of the portrait. Rich borders of gilded leaves ring the saucer and the bottom half of the cup. There are lacy gold accents as well as gold handle and rims. Condition: Excellent
