This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ½ inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The set is made of fine bone china. The cup features a puffy blown out shape and an art nouveau style handle. The type of decoration is known as “Spanish Lace”. The surfaces of both pieces are covered with fine, lacy gilding with hand painted flowers accenting the design. The borders have a kind of sepia wash tinged with gold. It gives the set an antique effect.
Condition: Except for a bit of crazing on the bottom of the saucer, invisible to the naked eye, this set is in excellent condition.
