This porcelain plate was produced in England by Mintons in 1893. There is an impressed date cipher indicating this year. The plate is signed by the renowned artist Antonin Boullimier. It is #7 in a series of 12 plates. It measures 9 1/4 inches. The delicate bone china has an unusual reticulated border. The center the plate has a hand painted scene of a GrecoRoman young woman with a goldfish bowl. She is pouring water into the bowl for the fish. The painting is of the highest quality porcelain painters ever produced. It is beautifully colored and well balanced. The border of the plate has celeste blue enamel that was often used by Sevres in France. Boullimier was the son of a Sevres artist, inherited his talent, becoming one of the most celebrated artists Mintons ever had.
