This porcelain vase was produced in Germany by the KPM Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer
in 1901 according to the date letter impressed on the foot. It is marked with the under glaze blue scepter and red orb. The vase is 6 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches at the widest point. The ground color is dark, nearly black, with mottled patches of teal blue or turquoise breaking through. A gilded mesh net overlays raised enamel blossoms. The foliage is painted with raised gold. The edge of the net has ruby translucent enamel drops hanging down. The mouth of the vase has a flower petal shape with an enameled lady bug on each petal. The design is influenced by the Asian culture with refined detail and craftsmanship you would expect from KPM.
