These 8 dessert plates were produced in France before 1890. They are marked with a mark copying Sevres but were produced elsewhere, perhaps a Paris decorator. They measure 8 1/8 inches in diameter. The blank has a floral design on the border that is cut out and hand painted. There are four areas on the border with gilded cartouches and hand painted flowers. The decoration is rich and there is some use of raised gilding. The rims of the plates are trimmed with heavy gilding. There is a slight bit of wear to the gilding where the plates were stacked. Because of the ornate designs it is not easily detectable. There are no other defects to these lovely plates.
