This porcelain jardinière was produced in France by a Paris manufacturer around 1870. It has no identifying marks. It is 7 1/2 inches high and the opening has a diameter of 6 inches. The porcelain is fine quality and is quite heavy. Some of the decorations on the vase are molded in relief. The jardinière is decorated with an oriental motif. There are scrolls containing birds, bamboo, butterflies and floral decorations. They are all outlined in gold that give it a cloisonné effect. This is a wonderfully decorative piece made before many of the Limoges factories came into being. It is a genuine antique and in excellent condition.
