This set of 8 porcelain bread and butter plates was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg before 1920. They have an impressed shield mark as well as a printed mark. The diameter of these plates is 6 1/2 inches. These plates were decorated at the factory and are first quality. They are extremely translucent and lightweight. There is a molded basket weave decoration around the border and they have a slightly scalloped shape. Each plate is individually hand painted with vivid floral sprays in the style of Meissen and Dresden china. All of the flowers are different. The bright colors and basket weave border give them a country feeling. These plates would be great for serving Hors d'Oeuvres. All of these plates are in excellent condition with no defects or signs of use.
