This is an authentic antique Japanese tall Hikidashi Tansu, drawers chest made of Sugi (Cedar) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. It was a custom made tansu that was commissioned to a tansu maker by a past member of the previous owner's family for use in a special area that used little space and needed storage functionality. The iron fittings were all hand made and original to the chest. It measures that 36.5 " tall, 19.75" wide, 17 " deep.
