This is a vintage Japanese Uchiwa Daiko. It is single head stretched over an iron frame, stitched down and attached to a wooden handle; comes in various sizes; traditionally held in one hand and hit with a bachi. Traditionally used by Buddhist activities to support/replace vocal chant. It has writing Namyo Horen Gekyo by ink. It measures that 22 " tall, 12" wide, 1 " deep.

This is a large Amida Buddha . This is one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas. "Amida" is the Japanese form of the Sanskrit "Amita," meaning "Immeasurable One." Excellent condition. It is 37.5 " tall, 18.75 " wide and 16.5 " deep made of Hinoki , cypress wood. It has writing on the back, Showa 45 ( 1970 ).
