Arthur Gilbert, British, 1819-1895. This pair of very finely painted landscapes are the best of the painting of Arthur Gilbert and possibly a scottish scene. Both paintings are highly detailed and luminous. They are each 7" by 13" and 14.5" by 20.5" framed. The frames are 19th century and exquisite. There is an original gallery sticker on the back of each painting attesting to their authenticity. Gilbert was the son of Edward Williams and exhibited regularly at the Royale academy, the British Insitution and Suffolk Street.He has work in the Museum at Glasglow and his painting sell for up to $15,000.
