Clinton Dewitt Boutelle, 1817-1884, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This oil on canvas is a wonderful example of Boutelle's masterful landscape paintings. It is 14.75" by 17.5" in a beautiful wide 19th C Gold Leaf frame, 24" by 27" framed. It is signed, has been lined and is in fine condition. He is well known especially for landscapes and also for portraits, indians, rivers, coast, fishermen, boats and cows.
He is listed in Fieldings, Mallett and Samuels and his paintings sell for up to $50,000.
