Wonderful Amida Buddha made of thick bronze signed on the back with the name: Fukui. We conservatively date it late 1800`s but it could be much older. Roughly cast but with fantastic simple beauty and depth. The more you look and be with this buddha, the more it`s essence of compassion and awareness permeates. Very mingei folk art and wabi -sabi. The hands in the zenjo-in mudra actually are detached. Very heavy but hollow inside so the amount of bronze is remarkable. Ask for shipping quote. H: 24" x W: 21".
