The best bronze garden we have seen. Meiji Period C.1900. Rich patina. The top is rengei-ji style and the middle has a thunder diaper. The middle piece panels all have bats in excellent relief. First time we have ever seen bats on lantern panels. In Japanese the second ideograph used to write bat and that for luck are also homophones. Roughly 45 inches tall and 15inches in diameter.
