A lidded wooden basket, the sides from one piece of thin steamed wood tacked together with brass brads at the center of one side and beveled decorative seam, flat wood bottom and flat wooden top and handle that locks into place by the design of the two uprights at the end. This type of box design dates back to Norse times. This one is further decorated with “Poker” embellishment in a foliate manner on the sides and lid with stitched edge detail on the lid, handle and uprights. A classic example of this well appreciated Folk Art from Scandinavia. Minor signs of age and wear otherwise fine condition. 5-3/8 in. high x 10-3/8in. long x 6 in. wide (138 x 264 x 152mm).
