Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug, Russian Empire (1721-1917). A fine wool pile in Turkish knot tightly woven on an all wool base. A traditional geometric and floral design consisting of two large hooked diamond medallions with the inward pointing arrowheads differing in colours one orange/red, the other red/blue, all on a blue field containing red angular patches trimmed in inward pointing arrowheads and some multi-coloured flower blossoms. The major border of multi-coloured octagrams on a white field.
Condition: Some worn areas, partially restored, end wool fringe restored, single edge red wool wrap.
