Gabrini known for his masterful watercolor paintings and draftsmanship was one of the most sought after paintings on the grand tour born in Italy in 1856 he died in 1926 this work is watercolor on fine Fabiano paper measuring 28 x 19“ Pietro Gabrini was an Italian artist working in variety of mediums on diverse subject matters. Perhaps he acquired his range of practices from his teacher, Guglielmo de Sanctis 1829- 1911. De Sanctis was an Italian painter, writer, and teacher from whom Gabrini learned the historical and cultural significance of the Italian arts. Primarily a watercolor painter, Gabrini often concentrated on compositions of interacting figures in public settings.
