THE ARTIST Anne-Allyn Lane has always attached her work to the various places where she has established studios. Following her philosophy studies at Maynooth College in Ireland, she returned to the United States and set up a studio in New Mexico. She later returned to her hometown of Washington, D.C., from whence she traveled extensively to London, Italy, and France, and also exhibited her work in South Beach, Florida. In 2000 Anne accepted a sponsorship with L’Enfant Gallery of Georgetown, located in the historic west end of the nation’s capital. This exclusive representation led to extended painting projects in Puerto Rico, South Hampton, New York, and, more recently, rural Virginia. Anne has always established studios in various locales in order to further inspire her creative endeavors. Her style is figurative Anne Lane studied art at George mason University in Virginia, completed her education at Saint Patrick’s college, Ireland, where she studied theology and philosophy. The tonal and contemplated intensity of her paintings reflect her 10 years spent working as an artist under the desert sun of New Mexico. Her vibrant style, resonant with color and baroque in detail, swoons its delight over her canvases. The subjects and themes of her art, reflect her fascination with people, particularly the phychology of loneliness with intimacy. Works by Anne Lane appear in private collections and public spaces from Lusaka,Zambia to Sydney,Australia.
