This listing is for a McCoy flower bowl from the late 1930s!
Bowl is matte white, measures 9 1/2" long, 6 3/8" wide, 1 3/4" tall, and was introduced to hold a McCoy flower ornament (wren, peacock, duck, etc.) known as "ladder pieces" to McCoy collectors. This explains why the bowl is not very tall and because of this height, this bowl is a perfect bowl to force paperwhites, daffodils, hyacinths, and tulip bulbs!
It is very decoratively styled with a bar type design on exterior. Bottom is marked with overlapping NMCO -- items with this mark are not everyday finds.
Flower bowl is in great condition. It has some crazing and a 3/8" slice type chip on inside rim -- actually, a 1/4" portion of the slice has been "fired-on" inside bottom which indicates the "chip" is actually a production McFlaw that occurred during removal from the mold.
Do not be deterred by my description; this is a very nice item!
