I purchased these two kitchen towels sometime ago at the same estate sale where I purchased the “risqué” towel set that we recently sold! Like those towels, these had never been used and had faint storage lines and a musty smell – I have laundered, lightly starched, and ironed them and they turned out great with vivid colors! These towels are not the “new” issues that are surfacing – I have seen those and they are made of very lightweight material. The towels in this listing have a heavy thread count. The red towel measures 29” long, 15 ½” wide, the peach color is 29” long, 15 ¼” wide. These are “book” pieces and may be seen on page 170 of “Antique Linens” by Marsha L. Manchester.
Both towels are in excellent, unused condition. The peach color one has a production blemish – see photo – it’s just above the watermelon in the bottom right corner – it’s extra peach color that shouldn’t be there.
