Plateros was the name of Sigi Pinedas first shop. He was not open long at this taller and works with this signature are rare. From this shop I have found his very best works. Thick silver and always made with quality and this necklace shows all that off. The red coral branch is over 1.5in. long and has a length of 1 3/8th's in. wide. The necklace lays beautiful due to the hinged design. The diameter is 4.5in. across which is about 16.5 inch wearable. No damage of any kind, just LOOK AT THAT NECK...

Mexico City Folkloric style was made popular by Matilde Poulat but there were other noted Maestros also producing stunning jewels of this style. P.OCHOA is one of those artists that I look for. The silver is thick repousse with unique skilled carving to the tops. This bracelet listed shows off a green oval stone in the center of a 1 5/8ths inches high center medallion. The weight is 70 grams and with No damage. Correctly signed as shown.

This Quetzalcoatl necklace and brooch is a true sculpture. Beautifully detailed with 107 grams of heavy silver repousse. The wearable length is 18 inches long. The drop / brooch is 3in. and 3.75in. tall. There is no damage and a gorgeous natural patina. The feathered repousse chain links easily unhook to become a brooch. Signed Made in Mexico which indicates made in Mexico City and very early as later Silversmiths signed their names or hallmarks. Tests higher than 925 just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

This is a Rafael Dominguez turquoise bracelet made before 1948 and properly hallmarked as shown. The weight is 58 grams heavy and is 1.25in. wide. It is 7in. long. The silver is thick and Dominguez is know for his high quality workmanship. Dominguez is a noted maestro in Penny Morril's books. When you own a Dominguez piece you know you bought the best! The stones are beautiful and have no chips or cracks. The piece looks fantastic with the turquoise drippy necklace also listed on my site.

What a wonderful Rafael Dominguez brooch this is. It is 2 inches long and 1.25 wide. The weight is 8.3 grams. The silver is thick and hand carved. I wore this as a closure for a scarf and it was stunning. Collector quality and MORE.

This is a pre-1948 Rafael Melendez bracelet that is so deeply chased and designed so beautifully. It is 1 inch wide and can fit a large range of sizes. The weight is 43 grams of thick silver. It has a turquoise stone that is gorgeous and has changed into over time a warmer tone of blue green. This piece is collector quality and a real treasure.

Rafael Melendez worked for Spratling when he first opened his taller de las Delicias. Melendez left to open his own Taller in 1939. This is one of his earliest marks that was done in 980 silver. I love to find these rare pieces made by unknown makers. This one is exceptional. The size of the center link is 2.5 inches. There is a wearable length of 19 inches. All other links and earrings are 1.5 inches long. No chips or cracks to the stones and no dents to the silver. The lock is hidden under a link showing a well thought out design. All the repousse is thick with a total weight of 127.5 grams. Hallmarked MADE IN MEXICO STERLING. Extremely well cared for, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Beautiful and rare Salvador Teran earrings are the exact match for the previously listed Teran Bracelet on my site. They are built like shadow boxes and have no damage or repairs. Approximatly 1in. by 1in.

One of the best Sigi Pineda's for a collection is this outstanding bracelet of silver brushed "pearls" and a concave black niello background that goes half the way around. Sigi's silver brushed pearl look was achieved by making a cutting of a tight spiral onto the bead balls. It is evident in the close up photography. Today we have a vintage Mexican silver parure made by Maestro Sigi Pineda. Sigi has had a long career in handmade jewelry within the Spratling era.
