I think romance is the tale of this storyteller necklace by Far Fan who is known for quality workmanship. The wearable length is approximately 17.5in. The largest panel with the senorita in the center is 1.75in. tall. The construction is framed silver like a picture frame with a niello background. The images are carved overlays on the silver. By no means is this piece light weight as it is made with thick silver. Produced entirely by hand and weighing 69 grams heavy this piece is an enchanting t...

We have an obsidian stone Mask brooch that exhibits an exceptional gold sheen. The brooch is 2 in. by 1.5in. Signed RB and with eagle 3. The carving has no chips, cracks or damage. The gold sheen obsidian is getting harder to obtain today and this is a beauty. The silver work on the head dress is exemplary. It was difficult to get a picture of the sheen with my camera. The lighter color is the reflection from light casting on the sheen.

Before William Spratling brought Taxco to life, popular jewelry all over the world was being made by spinning silver and turning it into beautiful designs in filigree. This is one of those early pieces. This example has 3 glowing gold sheen obsidian stones 1 inch tall. The process was time consuming and Mexican smiths were among the best in the world at producing florals, sweeps, and swirls. The center drop is 1.5in. tall and 17.5in. wearable length. William Spratling's Mexican Silver locket which is 2in. long including the loop for a chain, 1.25 in. deep and 1in. across is featured in todays listing. The stones have striations front and back as most from this era of the Mexican Silver Renaissance do. This example is much better than most found.
